en-Lit Yosemite: A Reception That Elevates First Impressions
en-Lit Yosemite Reception Desk
Rhythm, Light and Material
The reception is the first spatial encounter with a business, so it has to be both a working counter and a statement of identity. This 2026 design by Bonis Pantelis, manufactured by IRVEN, treats it that way. The desk is a composition of vertical rhythm, controlled light and a restrained palette.
Form and layout
The desk is an L-shaped, continuous volume that wraps the corner of the room, defining the reception zone without closing it off. A clean white top with softly rounded corners contrasts with the vertical elements below and gives the counter a crisp, monolithic edge. A secondary shelf level splits the front elevation into two registers, adding depth, useful surfaces and a clear proportional order.
Facade of vertical fins
The desk’s main feature is its front, a series of deep timber fins set at a slight angle to one another. Seen from the entrance, the fins read as a layered surface. Moving along the desk, the gaps between them open and close, so the facade seems to change with the viewer’s position. At the corner, wider, darker fins anchor the composition and mark the turn of the volume.
Materials
The fins and the slatted wall behind the desk use CLEAF YOSEMITE S013, supplied by Kanelli.eu. Its deep, warm oak tone and pronounced grain give the project a natural, tactile quality. The white carcass and top frame the timber, while the slatted wall cladding repeats the desk’s vertical rhythm so that furniture and architecture read as one.
Lighting
Concealed LED strips run behind the fins and wash the wood grain and the white inner surfaces with warm light. In the evening the desk becomes a glowing lantern. The light emphasizes the depth of the facade and gives the space a welcoming, premium atmosphere.
Context
Against the saturated blue accent wall, the warm timber tones create a deliberate complementary contrast: cool and warm, matte and textured, flat and sculpted. The result is a memorable reception that combines craftsmanship, material honesty and a confident use of light.
